Im trying to install Fedora 20 i386 DVD on VirtualBox 4.3.8 and on booting from the installation DVD I see a message [0.000000]tsc: Fast TSC Calibration Failed. The installation then carries on and takes c.2hours to complete but the OS will not boot afterwards and I see a message "Oops there was a problem. Contact your administrator" I am leaving all of the settings at default in Virtual Box ie768MB RAM and 8GB Disk Space. I've re-burned the installation DVD and currently re-installing the OS in VBox using the facility to test the installatin media then install, hoping this will work. Does anyone have any further ideas please.

Well. Testing the installation media didnt find any issues but still unable to use Fedora 20 after installation.

Anybody got any advice?

Installing in VBox always gives that error. However, it's not the reason why your OS isn't booting (and TSC calibrates later, anyway)

Try to give more RAM (those values are the minimum, and in my experience aren't sufficient to run heavy DEs like GNOME or KDE)

Why go through the trouble of burning an ISO then mounting it in VBox when you can mount the ISO directly? It's faster (and cheaper!)

As for your TSC (if it bothers you), you can fix it after installing Fedora, you can add the time source manually to GRUB (Google "fast tsc calibration failed virtualbox")

Thanks abderrahman, I did try installing directly from the downloaded image and thought maybe that was causing the issue. However, the DVD I burned the image to was a RW so I havent wasted a disk. Anyway, thanks for the response and I will try the installation with more RAM.
