Hello,

Suddenly the colors of the borders of my windows changed in GNOME. Also the colors of buttons, tabs, toolbars, icons, ...

I got a message:

(dropbox:13727): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "hcengine",

Maybe someone has had it before and can tell me what to do.

Thanks,

Eric J.

Ahmad, it look like here. I see the same icons on the left. Further, the widgets are mostly white. the border of the browser window is purple/black, of the xterm white.

It looks like the widget theme and the icons have been switched to the HighContrast one(s). To fix the issue start the gnome-tweak-tool (install it if it's not already installed) -> Appearance, and make sure all the combo-boxes there are set to "(default)", e.g. "GTK+" should be set to "Adwaita (default)".

Alternatively you can execute these commands as user in terminal:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'Adwaita'
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme 'gnome'
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences theme 'Adwaita'

or use dconf-editor to edit/reset those gsettings keys.
