Locking package versions and stop from updating

Is there a way to lock packages versions on Fedora20 and stop them from updating?

Yes. Essentially you need to install the yum-plugin-versionlock package and edit the file /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/versionlock.conf adding the text: enabled = 1

Then you can add the packages you don't want updated to /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/versionlock.list each on its own line.
