GNOME 3.14 has a feature to automatically check for new updates using its gSoftware application. This feature can be disabled using the gsettings command line tool:

gsettings set org.gnome.software download-updates false

If you want to use dconf-editor instead, see blog post: http://www.fedoranow.com/fedora-21-disable-auto-downloads-of-updates/

That's probably the easiest way to turn off auto updates in Fedora 21.
