login to Gnome on Wayland fails and related sessions linger

hi,

can anyone help me with this?

Short version:

Login to Gnome on Wayland fails and successive failed sessions accumulate (sessions are not terminated when the login process fails).

Long version: I have a fresh install of Fedora 21.

The login process fails concistently when trying to log in to Gnome on Wayland. Also, attempting to log in to default Gnome fails the first time after a failed attempt to log into Wayland. This seems concistent.

On logout from default Gnome, it appears I have several sessions running. The shutdowm screen says "Other users are logged in" and displays my user several times. It seems the number equals the number of failed attempts to log in to Gnome on Wayland.

After logging out from default Gnome, the gear for selecting session is not visible, but I can still produce the selection list by clicking where the gear used to be. So, the login manager detects that my user is already logged in. Apparently, the failed logins have not been terminated.

the dmesg output below describes the following process: Failed (>1) attempts to log in to Gnome on Wayland Failed (1) attempt to log in to default gnome Successful attempt to log in to default gnome Repeated the process one time.

At the time, Gnome says there are 3 other users logged in in the shut down screen, but who says there are only 2. :who pio :0 2015-01-29 18:15 (:0) pio pts/0 2015-01-29 18:45 (:0)

This is not a bug reporting site.. Fedora 23, implements wayland very well. Switch to 23. 21 support lifetime is ended.
