I just installed Fedora 22 on my Laptop but the cursor slags and jumps and the experience is annoying.

Do I have to install any driver etc to improve it?

(This was not case in Fedora 21)

Try the synaptics driver

su
dnf install xorg-x11-drv-synaptics
cd /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/
ln -s 50-synaptics.conf 99-synaptics.conf

This worked perfectly for me! I have a System76 Kudu Pro, and this worked great for me!

THANK YOU!! This worked for me on my Elan touchpad (Samsung Series 9).
It also fixed the new behaviour where two finger scrolling does not work if you use your first and fourth fingers (fingers too far apart) Would be good to know why this worked. Why does a symlink to the same file make the driver load?

This fixed the problem for me.

F22 is using a new driver (libinput) which still has a couple of rough edges. Anything that doesn't work as expected please file a bug and we'll fix it asap.

A cursor jump could be caused by the hardware (and libinput handling events differently) or by excessive processing on the X server side. Again, a bug will help us to get this fixed.

My new laptop with touch screen has similar problem. The mouse cursor slags and jumps. When this situation happens, The cursor sometimes jumps to the central bottom of the screen. I have tried above fix, it improves the situation ( this happen less ) but not completely fixed. Is it possible that the touch screen also play some role here and require some fix as well ?

Where and how can bugs be filed? Unfortunately compared to the previous driver, scrolling works only sometimes, a right click works nearly never and while trying to scroll the cursor jumps wild on the screen. Maybe there are technical reasons for a new driver but from user perspective.. well I don't know how to call it...

Filed a bug. Why did Fedora change to libinput when it's behaviour is clearly inferior with basic usability testing?

Hi, On Fedora 21 the cursor lags and jumps sometimes, but with fedora 22 the touchpad is not working anymore. The only way I can get working is this:

Firdt I need add "splash i8042.noloop=1" to "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX" and then with this boot sequence:

  1. Boot with fedora 22 liveusb plug on the pc
  2. Select this option on boot menu http://i.imgur.com/qKdumnY.png
  3. See this error http://i.imgur.com/d1tLRK7.png
  4. Ctrl+Alt+Del
  5. Normal boot and get touchpado working!

Also I have reported the bug, I hope is well reported https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug....

Best regards
