To not complicate, taking advantage that you have a NTFS partition, copy all your files from Ubuntu to NTFS. Or make a backup in another destiny.

Makes a installation to replace the existing Linux distribution.

How to install Fedora 17 dual boot?

Video (as example)

HERE

When you get to the part(0:59): which type of installation would you like?

Select "Replace Existing Linux System (s)"

Remember to download the corresponding ISO, to your PC 32 or 64 bit

First, I highly suggest that you back up your important data before reinstalling the OS. No one can prevent bad things happen although the probability is different for every one depending on its knowledge, experience, etc.

If your home is on a separated partition, that is straightforward:

when you install Fedora, manually create the partitions for Fedora. Be very careful here and make sure you are sure which partition is for which data (e.g. sda4 for home, sda8 is a ntfs drive).

If your home is on the same partition with the /, I suggest that you copy the data to a new partition and go on with the above process.
