I am able to start gnome-music but it appears the following error message in the terminal window and gnome-music does not load any songs from the directory.

ERROR window.py:207 Tracker query crashed: tracker-db-interface-error-quark: Invalid child (0)

How to approach this?

I upgraded to F22 in the meantime, but error persists.

Have you enabled Search in Settings, and selected the folder Music?

@skytux: Yes, tracker is active and my music folder is indexed by it. That works.

Too weird: Suddenly it works. I just tried to start it in order to file a bug (as suggested by @Ervin-Reloaded) and suddenly it opens just fine and also finds my music.

There is also a gnome music player client. Did you install that? Perhaps it might help.

Hi, I suspect some issues with the tracker database. This fixed the issue on my Fedora23:

$ tracker daemon -t $ tracker daemon -s

Hope it helps.

Hi, Thanks for following up. I had the described problem with Fedora 21. After upgrading to Fedora 22 the problem has been fixed.

You should post a bug about it at Redhat Bugzilla. Bugzilla. Meanwhile use rhythmbox and totem. Are you perhaps trying to open mp3 files?

It's soooo weird. Gnome Music never used to work in Fedora 21. Then, I upgraded to Fedora 22 recently and thought I give it a shot but result was negative (see above error). Now, I wanted to start it in order to file a bug, and IT WORKS.

I absolutely don't understand why. Nothing changed so far (except the regular updates that were coming in during the last days).

Strange.
