building an rpm with dynamic owner

asked 2012-02-15 13:23:48 -0600

HI! I have to build an rpm using a different owner for my different release environments, i.e. a prod owner in one environment, uat owner for another, etc.

Is this possible?

Thanks!!

You could define a custom macro and redefine the macro as you rebuild the rpm for every environment. The link below should have more information to help you along. For example in your user rpm macro configuration file under ~/.rpmmacros you could define %owner Prod and in your spec file wherever you want to use that value instead of Prod replace it with %owner.
