NVIDIA drivers causing random blackout

I just installed Fedora 22 and (after disabling the Nouveau drivers due to this bug ), I installed the Nvidia proprietary drivers from the CUDA repository. This works fine, except now, 2-3 minutes after Fedora starts up the screen goes black. I have tried uninstalling the CUDA drivers and reinstalling from RPMfusion. I have tried uninstalling all of the above and installing the binary blob from the Nvidia site. I have tried installing the old 304 drivers. Always the same result.

The GPU works in another machine running Ubuntu 14.04, but 15.04 on this machine has the same issues as Fedora 22 when installing the Nvidia drivers.

Any suggestions to how I can diagnose this problem? I am drawing a complete blank here. Even if it was possible to fix the Nouveau drivers, using them would not be an option as the PC is mainly for CUDA development.

Hardware:

GPU: Gigabyte Nvidia Gefore Titan Black CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 5960X Motherboard: MSI X99S XPOWER AC LGA2011-v3 socket HDD: Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E1T0 SSD PSU: Corsair AX1200i

You can check if that comes from wayland or not. To know your current desktop, run echo $DESKTOP_SESSION, then log off and choose another option under the password field (the cog wheel) : gnome, gnome-classic, gnome-wayland.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I disabled Wayland. As the same thing happens under Ubuntu (which doesn't use Wayland), I'm guessing that it's unrelated to this however.

If you're still having the issue what you can do to avoid this behavior is either increasing the time of inactivity after the screen will be blanked or completely disable this feature. While this is not a proper solution, rather a workaround, it works fine for me on F22 with nvidia blob binaries.
