Hello everyone!

I decided to install Fedora 22 in my mac a few days ago. I was a bit bored of OS X and I desired to know how Fedora and Gnome would look in a 27'' screen. I'm really happy with the result! :D

Yesterday I tried to boot the main partition of the computer, which has OS X Yosemite installed. It was impossible, and when I boot another partition (with OS X Snow Leopard) I discovered that the main one has errors and that I should format it.

Maybe this is a good opportunity to said goodbye to OS X and let Fedora become in the main OS of my computer. Nevertheless, I'm bit scared of that. Macs are a bit 'sensitive' and I feel that finally, something will end breaking down...

I need your advice! Should I reinstall OS X or make the Fedora partition bigger? In this case, could you tell me some tips to avoid future problems? (installation of drivers, configuration, grub, etc.) I've already had a problem with a kernel update...

Thank you so much!

Hi!

I would suggest you to reinstall OS X (regardless the version) and make the Fedora partition bigger. This because of your latent fear.

I got experience with late-2014 Retina-Display Macbook Pro and late-2008 White Macbook. Both of them got Fedora 22: the Macbook Pro has Gnome in dual-boot with Yosemite and the White Macbook has XFCE in single-boot.

You got to be careful with the graphic (specially Nvidia) and network drivers. My advice is to have one flawless functional kernel that you will use in case of a system-crash.

The rest of hardware work perfectly to me.

Best regards!
