I'm having problem with graphics on my EliteBook. Namely, immediately after leaving Grub it tries to enter the graphics mode and all I get is a flickering (no traces of text, whole screen goes black-grey in a stroboscope like way) laptop screen (external monitor is fine though - at least till the moment I try to login graphically - then it goes blank). It all started after updating the kernel, and here are the ones that were causing problems:

Everything is working fine with 3.6.8-2.fc17.x86_64.

It's an ATI:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Device 6841

The logs do not exhibit anything suspicious.

I have exactly the same equipment and the same problem. Screen goes blank after leaving GRUB. Please let me know if you find a fix for this.
