Fedora 15 won't shutdown

asked 2011-12-07 21:39:56 +0000

My Fedora 15 64 won't shutdown I recently installed it and I have just updated a couple of times. It gets stuck on the blue screen with the Fedora logo and the hdd keeps running. Is anyone having this same issue?

Does it fail to shutdown, or is it just slow (how long have you waited) ?

Was it getting problems with the shutdown just after installing Fedora 15 or after installing the updates ?

If after the updates then can you just roll back those by identifying those with below commands

# yum history list

And then undo those by the respective ID's

# yum history undo <id>

Try to shutdown it without "rhgb" option so you can search for any error message.

No error messages but I accidentally noticed something else; this only happens when my laptop is running on battery and low battery to be precise; It goes through the normal process you can even hear th HDD stop but the blue Fedora logo is still on the screen.
