Just installed a fresh Fedora 23, and went through the updates. I'm running the default x64Gnome spin. All is well. so I started the "software" tool and wanted to remove fonts, I don't need. like lohit and others. I go to libre office writer, and all the fonts are corrupted, the libreoffce wirter menus are corrupted. how to resolve this issue and why did that happen?

If you had done your changes using dnf, you could just undo them now. Try the following: Open a terminal, an run sudo dnf reinstall libreoffice libreoffice-base libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts. Maybe that does the trick.

Sorry, no clue to to achieve the same with Software Center. Maybe removing the entire LibreOffice suite, and then (re-)installing it again...?!

thanks for your reply. I was about to do a reinstall. This is my first installation of fedora. I thought I was doing something benign. But, ended resolving it the "brute' way. your solution is more elegant. I'm learning.

RESOLVED. Even though LIBREOFFICE writer was in an all english mode (menus, fonts, etc) when I deleted the asian fonts, libreoffice become corrupted (the menus looked odd, unrecognizable scribbles, the text I entered changed to unrecognizable scribbles, even when I closed it, I could not tell, where "save" or "cancel" etc were) But, I went and deleted the fonts my self at the terminal from /usr/share/fonts, closed all windows of libreoffice and restarted it. everything looked fine. so, basically i panicked because it's my first time encountering this behavior. which is alarming. so, either someone provides a clean fix, or , users need to be aware.
