Hmmm, im not sure this the correct answer, i recently updated my fedora23 install which was playing both h264 and h265 video, and it seems to have stopped playing them, in particular the video thumbnails are no longer being generated in the "files" app.

Second problems is that even though i have rpm fussion repo enabled, it now wont install vlc, and "sudo dnf search vlc" returns nothing. I had removed vlc and tried to reinstall to fix it, but no dice.

So i think that something is screwy with the rpm fussion repos for both 23 and 22, something that was not a problem 2 weeks ago.

Hi. I guess, you should create a new question related to the problem your are facing. Apparently, @carlob just didn't have rpmfusion setup or codecs installed. Asking a question or bringing in a new topic as an answer to a question is generally not very helpful.

If this question has been asked hundreds of times as you say. Why don't you answer it so those of us who aren''t computer geeks can understand it. Your community of fedora experts must just want to keep this OS to themselves. If you just want to blow smoke up our butts by giving answers no newbies can understand. Why don't you just keep them to yourself.

Wrong. You need not be an expert to arrive at the answer. Why should I answer this question duplicate? common sense. I should close the question ...
