I downloaded Opera 35 beta (opera-beta_35.0.2066.10_amd64.deb), extracted it and I can't seem to figure out how to run it. I tried a few different scripts using terminal, but I hardly use Linux and when I had, it was Fedora 16, so I'm incredibly rusty and basically starting fresh with Linux again. The location of my download is in the downloads folder. How do I execute this? The Fedora 23 I downloaded had Firefox installed. I don't like Firefox. Also, what script would I run to uninstall that? (I don't even know where it's located).

I believe Fedora 23 is rpm based? I don't know how to convert deb to rpm. I realize this is probably a long process. Please help!

Thank you so much.

You can download Opera for Fedora from Opera.com . It’s right there on the front page.

Download opera from official site. just copy-paste these command on your terminal. It will download and install opera.

wget http://download3.operacdn.com/pub/opera/desktop/40.0.2308.81/linux/opera-stable_40.0.2308.81_amd64.rpm

sudo dnf install opera-stable_40.0.2308.81_amd64.rpm

I hope it helps.

It appears there are official RPM repositories:

http://rpm.opera.com/manual.html

I am not sure if that is the best way of installing Opera on Fedora, but so far it has worked for me.
