I cannot connect to my Pixma MG6150 printer wirelessly

I have downloaded and installed the scanner and printer drivers from the Canon website for my Pxma MG6150. This worked fine in Fedora 15 but I cannot register the printer in Fedora 16. On using the script that comes with the driver I get the following error: "The printer registration has not been completed. Register the printer manually by using the lpadmin command."

Trying to use the Printers GUI in System settings gives "FirewallD is not running. Network printer detection needs services mdns, ipp, ipp-client and samba-client enabled on firewall"

Using the Printers Troubleshoot wizard gives: Page 1 (Scheduler not running?): {'cupsconnectionfailure': False} Page 2 (Choose printer): {'cupsdestsavailable': [], 'cupsqueuelisted': False} Page 3 (Local or remote?): {'printerisremote': True} Page 4 (Remote address): {'remoteserveripaddress': '', 'remoteservername': ''} Page 5 (Check network server sanity): {'remoteserverconnectipp': False, 'remoteservernameresolves': ['', '', ''], 'remoteserversmb': True, 'remoteserversmbshares': [<smbc.dirent object="" "canon_memory"="" (file="" share)="" at="" 0x2de3440>,="" <smbc.dirent="" object="" "ipc$"="" (ipc="" share)="" at="" 0x2de3e90>],="" 'remote<em="">servertraceroute': (['traceroute to (, 30 hops max, 60 byte packets', ' 1 ( 2.185 ms 2.787 ms 5.521 ms', ''], [''], 0), 'remoteservertryconnect': ''} Page 6 (Verify packages): {'packagesverification': {'cups': ['?........ /etc/cups/cupsd.conf.default', '.......M. c /etc/cups/subscriptions.conf', '?........ /usr/lib/cups/backend/dnssd', '?........ /usr/lib/cups/backend/ipp', '?........ /usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd', '?........ /usr/lib/cups/backend/serial', 'missing /var/spool/cups/tmp (Permission denied)'], 'foomatic': [], 'gutenprint': [], 'hpijs': [], 'hplip': ['?........ /usr/lib/cups/backend/hpfax'], 'system-config-printer': []}} Page 7 (Locale issues): {'printerpagesize': None, 'systemlocalelang': 'enUS', 'userlocalectype': 'enGB', 'userlocalemessages': 'en_GB'}

SOLVED Start firewalld "service firewalld start" this still does not discover the printer but the driver install ( script now gives the error "The printer registration has not been completed. Register the printer manually by using the lpadmin command." Now discover the Mac address of the printer and note it down. Open a terminal and enter the following command: /usr/sbin/lpadmin -p MG6150LAN -m canonmg6100.ppd -v cnijnet:/xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx -E where xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx is the Mac address. Your printer is now installed.

Open the CUPS Web interface by typing "http://localhost:631" into a browser window.

Check if you can add the printer from there.
