Hi, I downloaded steam off the RPM Fusion repository (think it is called that) but it doesn't start at all! After updating it it doesn't open (you know the process when you install steam).

I tries opening it as root but i get this errorimage description

I cant get past this step

The step I cannot get through

Have you tried running steam as normal user? Don't run with "su", but just in a regular terminal.

By the way: you should not start any GUI application as root, this is pretty insecure. I don't know why you did this, but you should get used to not doing this any more.

If steam doesn't run as normal user, try reporting back. It might be because you ran it as root which is known to break things because files are created as root and normal users don't have access to these files any more. Deleting steam's config data might help in this case.

If I were you I would try to uninstall whatever you have from steam, and then with the system clean install Fedy https://www.folkswithhats.org, and then install Steam from Fedy's list, I did it this way and it sets up everything at once, I hope it helps ;)
