I just install mate on a new system . I run dnf update . I get this error . Has any one seen this ? How do I fix it The operation would result in removing the booted kernel: kernel-core-4.2.3-300.fc23.x86_64.

My guess is that the 4.2.3-300 kernel is the oldest of three installed on your system and that the dnf update includes a new kernel. Since /etc/dnf/dnf.conf is, by default, set to keep only three kernels

installonly_limit=3

then it wants to remove the oldest installed kernel, aka, the one your currently running.

Reboot and choose the newest installed kernel, then run dnf update. See what the result is then.
