Problem Installing ISO in Gnome-Boxes

i've tried installing winddows 7 in Gnome boxes but not starting at all

errro is....

(gnome-boxes:1997): Boxes-WARNING **: machine.vala:606: Failed to start Win7Pro: Unable to start domain: Cannot access storage file '/root/.local/share/gnome-boxes/images/boxes-unknown' (as uid:107, gid:107): Permission denied

Hmm, it reeks of permissions eh? Have you tried starting Boxes from the cli with sudo or as root?

The storage file path indicates that you are running Boxes as root or you did it when you installed the machine. That's discouraged and not supported.

Boxes is unable to access your storage file since it does not live in the /home/<your_user>/ prefix.

I know a similar issue, I can't install RevengeOS in my GNOME-Boxes, but I don't know how to print the error message - so I guess I'm screwed...

Try running it in the command line. Prefix the command with GMESSAGESDEBUG=all.

$ G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all gnome-boxes
