Libreoffice 5.1 appears to have broken copying and pasting of cells within tables in Writer. This has only happened since I upgraded to F24 and Libreoffice 5.1.

What I'm doing: copy one or multiple cells within a table. Paste into the same (or another) table.

What I'd expect to happen: the contents of the copied cells are pasted into the cells where you've hit paste. So say you've copied four cells in a column and paste into another column, I'd expect the contents of the first cell to appear in the cell where you've hit paste, the contents of the second cell to appear in the cell below that, and so on. This was the behaviour in all previous versions, and (frankly) in every other word processor I've ever used.

What actually happens: to be honest, it's not easy to tell. It seems to end up pasting all the copied cells inside the cell where you've hit paste, but it does so in a really broken way, messing up the cell width etc so you can't even see the cells properly.

Happy to report this upstream if it's an upstream bug rather than F24, but thought I'd try here first. Can anyone else using F24/LO5.1 reproduce this?

Update: latest update (5.1.4.2-4.fc24) appears to have fixed this.

I can confirm this behaviour. You're right in saying this should be reported upstream...Might be an idea to close this as well then.

Hi, thanks for this. I've reported this upstream but will keep the question open here for now until it's confirmed upstream. I've also updated the question title, as for some reason my original title got lost when posting last night…

Hi, user in upstream forum reports that pasting behaves as expected in Xubuntu, so it looks like this is an issue with the Fedora version.
