Centring windows in GNOME 3

Is there any way to turn off the "smart" placement of windows and make all windows appear in the centre of the desktop by default in GNOME 3.0?

To my knowledge, there isn't a simple way to do this in GNOME 3.

Use gtile extension it can do what you are looking for

the put window extension can do this with a keyboard shortcut i believe: https://github.com/negesti/gnome-shell-extensions-negesti
