Hi I would like to add some commands in a menu launcher in gnome 3. Alacarte seems that doesn't work at this version . It was the easiest way of doing it.

I tried lxmed, and application of sourceforge. It installs, but it does not launch.

Thanks for reading my question.

Ok for whoever Alacarte crashes with the "No module named gmenu" error reported here

Please follow this below link to fix the gmenu problem and thus run Alacarte in F16

The fix is update in the bug listed in bugzilla here

By creating new *.desktop files in /usr/share/applications/ or ~/.local/share/applications/ you can add new things to the list of apps relatively easily. Just use one of the files already there as a template to get you started. (Or search about the standard.)

PS @makuz: Alacarte crashes on my up-to-date F16 system as well, so @BarX isn't the only one.

I suggest that you restart the gnome-shell after using Alacarte with Alt+F2 then type "r" and press enter.
