I used to use 4.6.7-300.fc24.x86_64 kernel and everything worked fine. After upgrade to kernel-4.7.3-200.fc24.x86_64 I've encountered a blinking blank screen on boot which turned into just blank screen after a few seconds.

I've managed to boot successfully with nomodeset kernel option. I've also managed to get dmesg output for the case when screen was blank. Here is it: http://pastebin.com/wznT3biL

Some notable remarks:

  • I have a NVIDIA optimus powered laptop
  • No bumblebee installed (I tried to install it but it did not help)
  • Everything still works on 4.6.7 kernel

UPD [2016-10-02 02:02]

Works fine on 4.7.5-200.fc24

How do you install nvidia drivers? did you used rpmfusion.org ? if you did not use rpmfusion akmod you need to reinstall the nvidia kernel module.

I experienced issues with Nvidia and 4.7.x kernel too. Installing proprietary drivers through RPM Fusion helped in my case.

Same issue here. 4.7.x only works when passing nomodeset as kernel options. 4.6.x works smoothly without it.
