Windows 7+ Fedora 16 dualboot installation partition issue

I am currently in the process of installing Fedora to dualboot with Windows 7 on my computer. Before I began the process of installing Fedora, I took 20 gigabytes of space off of one of my partitions to put Fedora in. This space showed up in the drive menu during installation as 20481 MB of free space. When, however, I tried to create a partition with this space, I got an error message saying that there is not enough space to create the partition. Help?

How many partitions do you currently have?

Warning: Knowledge gained through guessing and reading websites!

You may have a similar problem I had: I had 3 partititons for windows, and couldn't create a 5th one, getting the same error message you have. Found out that the msdos partition table only allows a maximum of 4 primary partitions, or 3 primary partitions and 1 extended.

So I used for the first time LVM, placing all linux partitions into it.

In your case you have topped the amount possible (in my understanding of these things), so perhaps you could backup the contents of and delete one of those partitons, then use LVM.

Edit: Alternatively, try booting off a Garted liveCD/USB and creating a partition with it.
