free magic broken

After I install Fedora 16 on AMD system I receive an error message when grub2 starts: "free magic is broken at 0xcfdfdee0: 0xffffffff" Aborted. Press any Key to continue" (it does not) This is 64 core system w/ 128 GB RAM, maybe that is too much? It does, though work on other similar systems, and with grub 1. I now have to use the grub 1 from F15 to boot F16.

Any ideas how to make grub 2 boot on this system?

Sounds like this could be several possible issues:

a) Could be bad memory. Try running memtest on your machine for a day or two?

b) Could be a grub2 bug. Try filing a bug on grub2 with all the info you can gather about your setup and install.
