I have “win xp” installed on partition “C”, and “fedora” on “ext3” partition, then I removed “fedora” by reallocating the “ext3” partition as “ntfs”. The computer have not launch the “win xp”. It just show at startup a black screen with the word “grub>”

Why this problem occurred? Can I solve the problem using DOS command?

Thanks.

GRUB is still installed in the MBR, but then does not find its configuration file (because it has been removed, as it was on the Fedora partition)...

You will have to replace the MBR with the "standard" one. you can boot the Windows installation DVD, select "repair your computer" or, you can open the command prompt from the recovery menu, and type this command:

bootrec /FixMBR
