Cannot pick a color with gimp color picker

Hi, If I remember well, using the color picker in gimp allowed you to pick any color present on the screen. I remenber using it many times. I don't know if the trouble I am facing comes from my new install of Fedora 25, but I can no longer use this color picker out of the image gimp is presently working on. Is this behavior normal or is it some new bug ?

I also tried gnome's color picker and, despite struggling to understand its somewhat laconic help, it seems to me the trouble is the same.

I have still Fedora 24 with GNOME 3.20.2 and GIMP 2.8.18 and the color picker in GIMP works only for the image and not for entire screen too. I think it is probably not an (old) bug.

I cannot even pick colors inside the GIMP image.

Didn't they introduce Wayland with 25? That might have introduced the problem? @brilant_blue are you using Wayland with F24?

This is a Gimp bug on Wayland.

Fedora 25 introduced Wayland is it's default display server, instead of X.

If you need colour picking, you can start your Gnome session on X instead of Wayland from the login screen.
