Display Compositing gets disabled

Hello,

I have been seeing this issue in Fedora 32 - Xfce; every few sessions,
Display Compositing gets disabled, I can’t figure a pattern yet (e.g. after an update) it just seems random.

I use Xfce dropdown terminal, It has opacity set a 90%; that is how I notice when it has been disabled, no opacity. In terminal settings, it gives a message

“opacity setting is not available since compositing is either disabled or not supported by your window maganer”

And indeed, I go into window manager tweaks > compositor and I have to re-enable.

I use Gimp, Nomacs, videos (totem), vlc; xfce theme manager; none of these would need to disable that setting to work, do they ?

It is not a big issue, system seems to work fine, I haven’t notice something else, it is just weirding me out.

anyone else is seing this?

Thx.
