Error with the soundcard - please help!

I am using Fedora 30 and have installed all recent updates. My soundcard seems to now not be working - on playback devices it says HDMI / DisplayPort but there is no sound from the speakers or headphones. I have tried changing outputs in the system settings with no luck. I also can’t seem to find a solution online.
Thanks!

What sound card do your have (try to edit your post and include this relevant info)?
Did your rebooted the machine after updates?

I entered ‘/sbin/lsmod | grep snd’ and obtained the following:

I also updated to Fedora 31 but this still hasn’t worked

I have also ran alsamixer and all seems to be ok as shown here

Hi, after switching on my laptop this morning, my sound has suddenly started working! Strange as it didn’t work after restarting yesterday and I haven’t changed anything since then. I’m not sure why this is - perhaps there was an update that wasn’t installed correctly?

Thanks!
