Fedora 34 KDE and changing the update check frequencey

Hi, one thing I’ve noticed regarding Fedora KDE as opposed to other distros and DEs I’ve run in the past is that the notifier for software updates happens one to many times a day instead of perhaps twice a week. Having attempted to read up on it it seems Fedora KDE comes with packagekit / Discover and the recommended way to get rid of update notifications in the system tray is to set Updates to ‘Always Hidden’ in the system tray config and the way to get rid of the eye-catching orange update icon inside Discovery is to uninstall packagekit and Discovery and perform all updates manually via the cli.

I’m about to do the latter so please tell me to halt if there’s actually a setting somewhere or additional application that can set packagekit / Discover’s update check frequence : )
