Fedora 36 restarts randomly

Dear members,

I am facing problems with Fedora 36. While using browsers (Brave and Firefox), sometimes the laptop restarts. I tried looking at the journalctl but that also did not give much hint as to what is causing the restarts.

Laptop: HP 255 G8
Processor: Ryzen 5500U

The OS is up-to-date.

Please help.

Thank you.

Check journalctl for events leading up to the shut down. The most common cause of this is overheating. You can check the current temperature and thresholds by running sensors.

Possibly related to this, which is very similar hardware, too.

This is the output of the last boot session (some last lines), before it restarted on its own:

I also ran sensors just after the fedora rebooted, and there the temperatures seems fine.
I also ran the datetimectl and the RTC time is matching the UTC time, as described in the above post.

One thing i noticed that the restart happens after some time when Fedora comes out of suspend, or some times also when the laptop is idling and the screen locks and when its unlocked then after some time the reboots happens.

Actually found a thread where other users have reported similar problems with this laptop running on different OSes.

The possible solution is the update of BIOS.
