GNOME goes to the login screen after plugging in / out external monitor for the first-time since boot

Hi guys,

I’m currently testing Fedora 36 Beta on my ThinkPad T495. I encountered an issue that didn’t happen with Fedora 35 where I’m logged out and brought to the login screen when plugging in / out external monitor for the first-time since boot.

When looking at the Logs app, it seems like the messages

14:28:23 gnome-session-b: GLib-GIO-CRITICAL: g_bus_get_sync: assertion 'error == NULL || *error == NULL' failed
14:28:23 gnome-session-b: GLib-GIO-CRITICAL: g_bus_get_sync: assertion 'error == NULL || *error == NULL' failed
14:28:23 gnome-session-b: GLib-GIO-CRITICAL: g_bus_get_sync: assertion 'error == NULL || *error == NULL' failed

appear when it happens.

My external monitor does have different refresh rate (240Hz) from my laptop monitor (60Hz) but I’m not sure if it has anything to do with this issue as it still happens when I change the external monitor refresh rate to match my laptop monitor refresh rate. Does anybody else experience this? Thanks!

I have the same issue. I use 60Hz external monitor and it’s the same.
