Gnumeric help toolbox blinks

I have a problem with Gnumeric (installed with dnf).

When I type a function and I follow it by an open bracket (, a help toolbox is displayed, but it immediately vanishes. The toolbox immediately goes way. It blinks.

How can I make it more persistent?

This video shows what I mean.

I can confirm that I see the same issue on gnumeric-1.12.50-1.fc34.x86_64

I see these in the logs, so looks like a bug:

Can you please file a bug either on Bugzilla or upstream? It could perhaps be wayland related, so worth testing with X too?

PS: when you post about a package/software, please provide more information about it, like what version you are using, on what Fedora release. If it’s a UI related issue, you should also mention what desktop environment you are using along with whether it’s Wayland or X and so on. It just helps others narrow it down quicker.

Thank you.

I have Fedora 34 Workstation running on Wayland, Gnumeric 1.12.50 (installed using dnf), kernel 5.13.14-200.fc34.x86_64.

I have opened a bug upstream.

Awesome, thanks. Please do share the issue here so other users who may run into it can follow it too.
