Laptop, screens on thunderbolt not recognized at all

Hi,

my laptop is failing to use a screen on the Thunderbolt 3. The monitor i connected through a port adapter, from HDMI to usb type C, to the TB3 port. I know this should work because it does so in the Ubuntu I have for work; it only fails in my personal Fedora 32 laptop.

Output from misc. commands

Kernel version
david@kiwi ~]$ uname -a
Linux kiwi.localdomain.d 5.6.19-300.fc32.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jun 17 16:10:48 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

First, I do have a TB3. Other than the specs for the laptop:

Yes, the adapter is an Apple one, it’s the one I got at the office for the Ubuntu HP

I also have an HP dock, and I tried with it. The laptop recognized other things, like the network adapter, the audio, and USB ports, but not the screen connected through HDMI. I’m adding some output for reference, but I don’t need the dock to work, going directly from the monitor to the laptop is ok for me, so don’t focus on that.
