No snap refreshes possible anymore

Apparently since yesterday an update screwed up the snap daemon because since then I can’t refresh any snaps.

It’s happening on every hosts and VMs. So it’s not contained to one host

Let’s confirm if this is caused by an update first. Did you update using dnf? If yes, please check your update history:

sudo dnf history list

and then:

sudo dnf history info <>

for whichever transaction you want information for

This suggests it’s either a network error or that api.snapcraft.io is down.

Looks like a DNS issue to me.

Are you using any privacy dns blockers? If so, they may be blocking your access to api.snapcraft.io.

There is no dns error. Everything is accepted and I’m receiving the good ips
And anyway if it was a dns error it would not be able to download anything which it actually does since I can see a downloading progress bar with some metrics.
It’s after that stage that it got an error on mounting.

This looks like a dns error to me

Whether or not that is cause of the issue or an unrelated problem I can’t say.

Then why am I able to do a nslookup? And then why again I would have some metrics while downloading?

And also the VMs are under a vpn each and everyone of them and they have the same error. So different dns servers which are not administered by me by definition but by PIA and others… So it can’t be that. Unless the snap package itself has a problem now with that.

This the 2 Last dnf transaction before it goes bad

So again, not a dns problem. What else?

And since this has been asked today by someone else…

I guess it s wide range.

Okey I found the problem. It’s related to the unsquashfs update and the snap version that has bug with the new version of unsquashfs

By the way it would be nice if you both gives thumbs up too on FAAS on the packages from bodhi to have this fix released as stable ASAP @dalto @ankursinha as suggested in the thread I’ve linked

Problem resolved with the new version of snapd release today for fedora.

Sorry, I don’t use snap at all, so I’m not the right person to test this update. Best to wait for other snap users to do it so it’s tested properly.

As I said it’s done.
