Is anyone else using OPUS to encode their music ? I keep reading how it is superior to all other music encoders so I’ve started experimenting with it. I seem to get smaller quality music files but I’m older and can’t say with certainty that the sound quality is worth the switch. For the record I’ve been using vorbis to encode all my music to .ogg files. Players aren’t an issue all of the music app’s I use can accommodate .opus files. I just need some younger ears confirm or deny my inclinations.

You’re entirely correct here. Opus is pretty much superior to Vorbis and AAC.
There’s a table of bitrates here; IME, 128kbps is usually pretty much transparent with occasional exceptions.
