Problem
Whenever Gnome on Xorg option is selected when logging in, the session is still opened as a Wayland session.
Cause
This was a bug in the login manager.

An update has been released to fix this issue.
After you update your system in your usual way (and possibly reboot), you should no longer be affected by it.
