System sound coming through microphone input

Hello,

I’m using a headset to listen to and record audio, but when I join a voice call with some friends, they can hear some of my system audio in the background.

I am plugging the mic into the audio jack on my chassis.

I have had this issue with other distributions too, but wondered if anyone had any diagnostics ideas.

If further information is required, just let me know and I’ll send it over.

A good idea to see what we do need please #start-here to read.

To get successful with researches in internet you need Hardware info of your system.

A good start is to give us more info’s as :

inxi -Fzx in terminal and post the output as </> Preformatted text here.

In addition to using inxi to describe the hardware configuration, we’ll need to understand your headset and microphone setup and the audio configuration on your workstation. Manufacturers vary in terms of how they intend the plugs and jacks to be used. One style is designed for a separate microphone jack (usually mono) and separate audio output jack (stereo); sometimes on desktops there are multiple output jacks for different purposes. The common laptop configuration is a single jack that can handle audio output only as well as output and input combined in a single jack. What’s your configuration?
