Touch screen capabilities got worse after upgrading from Fedora 36 to Fedora 37

,

Problem

After upgrading from F36 to F37, navigating through Nautilus via touch screen has gotten worse. When I open Files, I used to be able to scroll up and down very easily. Now, scrolling will sometimes stutter or lag.

Also, I’m unable to properly use my finger to do a “long press” right click in Nautilus and on Fedora’s desktop. F35 and F36 never had this issue.

I’m guessing it may have to do with GTK4 and Nautilus having issues.

Cause

After upgrading from F36 to F37, this issue began to happen.

So far, nearly every touch screen laptop I know have these issues.

Do you have some more info’s about your system?

All from same brand, model etc ?
Your statement is very general to narrow down the problem.

P.S.
I like the overview of your topic :+1:

I have the same problem on a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ITL05

It seems to effect all models. All 6 devices had Fedora 36 and had none of these issues.

Devices such as:
HP Elite X2 1012
HP Elite X2 1013
Thinkpad Yoga X1
Thinkpad Yoga X380
Acer Switch 5
Acer Switch Alpha 12

Pretty much, everything.

In the mean time I update my old laptop to F37 too. I can confirm the same issue with my touch-pad straight after update. My touch screen is not in tact anymore so i can not test it on it very well.

Have you actualized to newest kernel already?
