Hello,
Ever since the latest updates installed I’ve been getting errors trying to refresh updates in the software center. This is the error message:
Unable to get list of updates:
Failed to load signature: Invalid compressed data
What does this mean, and what can I do to fix it?
that means something is wrong. not sure what exactly.
you can refresh Gnome Software metadata information by running: pkcon refresh force
. What’s the output of that?
Alternatively, use dnf
from a terminal windows: sudo dnf update
.
It started working again. I’m guessing it’s not an OS issue. Could it have something to do with github and a bunch of other sites being down a couple hours ago?

Might as well be related to the hickup that effected parts of the internet today: Fastly Outage | Hacker News .
