Vivaldi, Fedora 36, KDE Plasma

Hi,

I have an issue with Vivaldi not being able to store passwords or cookies. The issue appeared after I decided to experiment and install KDE Plasma over Gnome

Not sure if it is relevant, but I have disabled KDE Wallet as it constantly asked for passwords during the Vivaldi startup

Vivaldi	5.3.2679.70 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit)

Operating System: Fedora Linux 36 (Workstation Edition)
CPE OS Name: cpe:/o:fedoraproject:fedora:36
Kernel: Linux 5.18.16-200.fc36.x86_64
Architecture: x86-64
Hardware Vendor: GIGABYTE
Hardware Model: P34V3

DE: Plasma 5.25.4
WM: KWin
WM Theme: Sweet-Mars-transparent
Theme: [Plasma], Adwaita [GTK2]
Icons: kora [Plasma], kora [GTK2/3]

Can you please let me know what direction to look at?
Thank you.

Seems pretty relevant. If vivaldi is trying to use kwallet as it’s store and you disabled it, that would be a problem.

Ok, I have enabled it back, now I have constantly this dialog when I open browser and cookies are wiped, and passwords are wiped after reboot:

Are you unlocking the wallet for vivaldi or are you cancelling the prompt?

Typically you would use pam to unlock the wallet at login.

By default SDDM does that, but if you’re using different login manager, you might have to populate its PAM config: https://archived.forum.manjaro.org/t/kde-wallet-always-asks-for-password-at-login/151436/9

Changing wallet’s password to empty one makes those prompts go away, though it’s less secure.
